Anyone know a cheaper alternative to the thick red Torco assembly oil? Looking for something to lube valvetraie before startups, etc.

    lube

If is for a hemi, cheap is not the word you want to use. If you like, go to Manton;s or other sites, and get the proper stuff. Burn;t push rods and lost runs etc. are not worth the cheap road. Heavy lubes don;t like mixing with oils. Don

    It is for a hemi. I guess I should've looked first...that stuff's only like 14 bucks.

What do you guys use to lube pushrods?

    Josh....
we use the Tech-Line stuff from Manton. we use a small grease gun, and the adjusters with the holes in them. just give each one a squirt while checking the lash....works great.

After i set the lash I use a squirt can with nitro70 Brad Penn oil. I put a squirt into the the pushrod cups , the Manton adjusters (with the oil holes) and on the lash caps, just before start up and I have never had a problem.
I have been using the Torco stuff for engine assembly for a long time and I love it but .... I just got a bottle of the Brad Penn assembly lube and have yet to try it

New Redline Liquid Assembly Lube comes in squeeze bottles instead of the screw top tub of paste that would make it convenient for the purpose.
    It blends into motor oil.
Unlike other assembly lubes, this product will not plug filters.
Provides 3x greater film strength than conventional black Molybdenum Disulfide greases.

Redline part number 80319 for a 12 OZ squeeze bottle with flip up/down applicator cap.
$12.95 Each bottle is super cheep.

We have a couple cases in stock.
