You might want to also look at the DefNder restraint. We've run a Hans for a number of years and have never really liked it in the car. We tested out a DefNder another driver had and it was instantly better in the car. Much more adjustable to conform for custom seats and driver angle. We are switching. You can check it out here

i use a Hans in my altered....and i love it. you will get several different opinions on here about what people like/dislike....everyone has an opinion. the reason that i like it is that when you put the shoulder belts on, you tighten them down over the Hans....it really tightens you up in the car and makes me feel more secure. as far as head movement, you have all that you will ever need. it's just a better deal in my opinion. i got mine from Don, who is a great guy to deal with. hope this helps.

Look into Safety Solutions Hybrid Pro. No seat mods necessary and you don't rely on the seat belt to hold it in place. When your in the car you don't even notice it. I tried the Defender in my altered and had to send it back. It might have worked in a bigger cage with less layback.

I was in the same position last year. There were many options and at least for me it wasn't realistic to try them all out. I decided to go with the Safety Solutions Hybrid Pro. Though I have nothing to compare it to and I haven't crashed with it on I don't have any complaints using it in a Pro Mod.

    Good luck,

Joad - do you have any problems getting 3 loops on the shoulder belt before you click it in the camlock?
