Good news for the IMIS and PRI shows for 2011

The good news is that IMIS show in Indianapolis has rescheduled for the second week in December so as not to conflict with the PRI show in Orlando scheduled for the 1st week in December. With both shows scheduled at the same time, everyone would lose.
I attended the IMIS show this year to compare it to the PRI show. My opinion is both are hard core racing venues and Indy caters more to different types of motorsports while PRI caters more to Drag Racing. Both are good and I will plan on attending both this year.

Len, I have been to the PRI show several times over the years. I haven't been to the IMIS show yet. My question is- PRI has been the first weekend in Dec. for as long as I can recall while IMIS was in Jan or Feb? Why did IMIS move their show to the first weekend in Dec? What was that all about? I am glad to hear they got things figured out on their dates-now if they could have it somewhere warmer? I want to go to both of them but I have to admit Orlando is nicer than Indy in Dec. Dave Germain

 

From what I heard from some manufacturers, they did not like the fact that they had to set up for a show then tear down and set up for a show a week later. Especially when it's 900 miles away. So, they lobbied IMIS to have theirs on the same weekend to eliminate the possibility. I guess someone lobbied more the other way.
