I have a 6-71 littlefield blower on the altered, restriped it last year.
Took the hat off in aug. to check a few things on it and to my surprise a nice 1/4" groove was cut out of one of the strips and in to the rotor. I did some looking and found one of the metal pins that hold the rotor to the.....Ill say rotor snout, that is splined for the gears on the front of the blower. I drove it back in and after one pass it was fine still nice and tight. but last week I opened it up and its back out and eating up more of that same rotor.

What can I do if anything other than send it back to littlefield(sorry littlefield the pocket book isnt there right now to send it to you). Any ideas or did I just get another shelf weight until its fixed by littlefield?

    Thanks,
    Bob

It's cheaper to have Littlefield repair it than it is to replace it.

    Better to wait.

If you can't afford to repair it, you can't afford to replace it, either.

If you can e-mail me a picture, I might be able to tell what's going on with it, those pins are taper pins driven into the rotor and shaft and then peened over, in 32 yrs of building blowers I have never seen a taper pin slide out unless something very, very wrong is happening, it might be something you can just ship me the rotors and gears and I can fix it,or call me at the shop, that might be the best, 714-992-9292. Hope this helps

@Dave, if he can get it to you that would be great, then you can at least determine what the cause and effects are, and either you can fix it, call me, or at least make the decision if it needs to come back to me, any way I can help him not have to pay for shipping I'm all for.
