is it better to get the biggest intake runner size you can on a rots blown application. thinking a 360cc conventional head vs a 420cc head. this would be on a 565 BBC

Sit down and think about it. It is forced induction not normally aspirated. Don

    runner size

i have thought about it and thought that bigger would be better. I just wanted to get opinions from others with more experience with forced induction than myself in case I was missing something. I hoped to get some reasoning with a response, but that has not shown any fruition here so far. Thanks for the replies.

I think it depends on the type of racing you do, meaning distance and blower overdrive. I went from a pontiac 427 cast head to a set of billet Bac-man heads and my car made more power and the boost stayed the same

    port

Most BBC port data is for normally aspirated applications. A huge good flowing port on a small engine will be lazy on the bottom but might work ok upstairs. Any Chevy with a good blower on alcohol is going to be an animal with bottom end power so you can basically throw the biggest port possible at it without paying penalties on the bottom.
I'm sure it can get more complex than that, but a conventional 360-400cc head with 35-40 psi is going to make over 2000hp. If that won't put a smile on your face then you probably should consider investing in a hemi because the Chevy is going to get really expensive and has basically zero resale value.
We run a big chief with huge ports and it makes around 150hp more than a dart 360 at 30psi.
