SCE swears they are good past 40psi. Mine leaked in my small block around 18-20psi. I chucked 'em and went to o-rings.

I used to work on a BBC, bowtie, 555", with 28-30psi, about 1500-1600HP. ran Corteco head gaskets, no o-rings, no nothin. Worked great. Just a thought.

We ran 24# of boost with Cometic head gaskets, and didn't have any problems.

Once we got to 24-28lbs BBC they distorted like they were pizza dough getting rolled out. Failure caused torched head and block, repairs were alot more than doing it right =

    O-rings and receiver grooves

BTW when I called them they would do absolutely nothing/stand behind there claim. They wouldn't even take a few bucks off a new set of regular copper gaskets that I was going to use with grooves/o-rings.

The cometics (steel shim gaskets )I was using before "upgrading" to the internal o-ring coppers worked fine up to 20lbs, never tried them past that.

Remember its not JUST about a boost number, it has a lot to do with being too lean also. I've spit out copper gaskets that were o-ringed with a receiver groove at 34psi, because I accidently went lean.

No doubt, but in my case we weren't lean and the gaskets (both sides) were pulling around every bolt hole and cylinder like taffy. BTW the guy I talked to on the phone was a fugstick! They claim they are good for x- amount of boost "because our customers tell us they made that kind of boost with them, but we aren't saying that there good to a certain level".
