I was just curious what the pros and cons are between the two different blocks? What are weight differances between the a BAE forged and a cast KB?

The survival odds are much better when you break a rod or two with a forged block , often not even windowing the block .

    Forged v Cast

No experience yet to be able to compare but heard two things:

Keeping stuff in the block is nice if you're not allowed to spill oil on the track, but Ăt may be better for you to kick it out rather than to mill it to pieces with crank and camshaft...
Forged supposedly shows more thermal expansion, hence lower oil pressure at the end of the run due to increased clearances.

Just hear-say, but it seems to make sense.
