Try calling Randy at RPM 504 923 3978, He has a real nice unit and you can NOT beat the service or price. IMO, I have had one for 3 years and no issues, blown alky set up

Yeah - I've used several different Racepak models. The Sportsman has limited inputs compared to a v300 or 500 but if you don't need everything under the sun, it will be fine. The other caveat is that it is housed in a plastic housing so if you are runnning a mag or high energy ignition with a lot of interference, I would mount the unit itself as far from the coil and/or mag as possible to prevent any damage or erratic info.

Has a memory card that pulls out and downloads on an included USB reader. We added a couple of pressure sensors on a universal 0-5v input module to pick up boost, oil and fuel pressure. When you add those to the included digital inputs it makes a good basic package. We will probably add egt's to that car for next season and this unit will accept them. Great unit for the price. Almost as capable as the v300 we run on another car I tune.

I have never used the RPM unit but hear good things about it. I just think it's hard to beat Racepak for reliability and ease of use. Their support has always been good when I've called.

The sportsman model is not the right choice, with as much shake as you can have you'll be fixing it every other weekend. They likely won't even reccomend the "V" series, PRO1/2/3 is what you'd really need. I have never deal with the RPM unit but have heard good things about it. We run a Pro1B and have 0 problems with it, not the cheapest thing but it is very nice. I know Brian Thiel has a nice unit for sale in the classifieds.

So far so good on the sportsman and shake. Of course it is mounted up front where that is probably not as bad of a factor.

Our v300 is mounted behind the driver between the wheels and has seen shake bad enough to break the chassis and wheelie bar. It's still fine. The Pro units are great but expensive for the average guy without sponsors. They just aren't necessary for what most of us do regardless of what racepak says.

I will say this... the UDX dash does NOT like the tire shake. It has been repaired a number of times.

I have one on my Top Dragster deal.

8 EGT's, boost, fuel pressure, O2, and shock travel.

They can not handle a MAG

Mine is a 4-link dragster and while I have shaken it plenty, gone hundreds of 6 second 200mph passes, it's not in the same zip code with 5 second true blown alky setup.

    Did I mention I sell em ;)

they don't have the filtering to get rid of the noise.

This is directly from Racepak and I am one their biggest dealers. Of course RP tends to be very conservative, so maybe in some instances it would be ok.

I have used the RPM performance from Randy since 1998. I have had 3 units sold the other 2 with cars. Quality and service, best unit out there.
He is working on his dash now.
You get alot more for your money and did I mention the service. Best there is.
