I am just wanting some opinions from people who have tried some different blowers. I have a Roots alky fc. I will be doing a lot of 1/8 mile racing, but will still plan on some 1/4 mile races. I have a 526 BAE fathead hemi. I am wondering how the Kobelco K8, K11, K8 Superman, and K11 Superman stack up for high O.D. Apps

Thanks for any and all advice.

PM's are difficult w/ my cell

what do you have now, and what are you trying to run E.T. wise. honestly for the price, you can't beat a Mert Littlefield. when I ran a roots, it was a stock littlefield high helix with k8 rotors at 57 over and could run 5.90's on any given day and that was 10 years ago. the blowers are even better today.

The superman's are really designed for the lower od. somewhere under 28 percent. WITH A SHOE.I JUST SOLD MY kEBELCO, AND i CAN SAY IT WAS THE BEST ROOTS i HAVE EVER OWNED.i i OWNED OTHER BLOWERS WITH kEBELCO ROTORS AND THE kEBELCO WITH THE MODS WAS FAR BETTER ALL THE WAY DOWN THE THE RUN ON THE BOOST NUMBERS. AND IT STARTED WITH A BLOCK STARTER WITH EASE. iN NO WAY AM i PUTTING ANYONE OR OTHER BLOWERS DOWN. dON

    Blowers

    Hi Guys,

I just sold my LF w/ K8 rotors, I'm sure there a great blower for the price, I am looking to run about high 3.70's low 3.80's in the 1/8" mile and 5.70's in the 1/4. I know the PSI roots is the best of all but I am not looking to spend that much and I'm not sure our normal track will hold that kind of power at the hit. Thats why I'm weighing options on the Kobelco stuff, I just bought a used K8 Kobelco but am wondering how the supermans and rotor profiles all stack up. I know quite a few people who have ran 5.72's in TAFC w/ the supermans both K8 and K11. Just wondering if I should be looking for a superman in the near future or if one of the profiles was better than the other for high o.d. apps. I realize the supermans may need some mod work for high O.D. I'm just thinking in the big picture.

What was Dale Brand running when he rotated the earth backwards to save Louis Lane? Kobelco, SSI, or PSI?

    Thanks guys,
    Trev

i have to agree with the guys above, walk before you run.....but another option for good bang for your buck is a Littlefield case w/Kobelco rotors. i know this guy in northern Ohio who ran one on his F/C...made lots of power. i think his name is John...something or other.

    Advice

    Guys,

I know what your saying and I know your trying to help. I couldn't do what I'm doing without all of the help I've recieved, especially without "Uncle" Tim Stephens....no relation. 2 Reasons why I'm going to be looking fo ranother blower, 1 is I'll need one for dads car and 2 is that there are some things that I have foundout recently that changed everything. I will not get into it on here (Tim, Terry Knows) but I may only be able to do this once. That said this car is more than just a ride to me, it is my lifes work and the only thing that has kept me going for the last 13 years after all that I've went through. It is more an extention of my soul than anything and therefor I would like it to be something I can be proud of. If I can only do this once, I will shoot for the stars as I've always tried to do. Rather I make it there or not doesn't matter, so long as I steer towards my goal w/ every breath I take until the last one.

Besides, I enjoy learning about these things, its all I've focused on since I was 15 (ask Rob Atchison and Brent Lidguard how many hours I've spent on the phone with them when I was a teenager) I can't learn if I don't ask or nobody answers. I appreciate all of your advice rather I followed it or not. Its my journey so only I can choose what path I follow and in the end I will accept my prize with open arms rather it be a bad ass e.t. slip or failure. I haven't been able to run in 6 years thanks to some war injuries, maybe just maybe my car can do the things that I no longer can.

Back to the direct subject at hand, I will have to check into these DMPE x-3 rotors, I've only heard them mentioned once before, I may look for a used k8 or k11 Superman next year sometime.

You guys are the greatest and now in my traditional goofball way I leave you with this.....I can't promise success, but I will promise you that I'm going to work harder at it than a cat trying to bury a turd on a marble floor......

    Thanks guys,
    Trev

Dont take this as an insult
    1st lesson
    Speed=$$$
You say you dont want to spend the money and the track is not good enough.
I am sure the roots Dale had on the car when he went the 5.67's was one of many he bought to get the "magical blower".
If the track wont hold it how do think you can go as fast and lose so much down low
just put a "good" blower on it and have fun for a while, driving these things isnt as easy as it appears most of the time, dont forget how much you may tear up/wear out learning to drive these, dont throw out your very best parts to learn.

It takes a lot more than just a blower to run 5.60 with a roots car...
Personally, I would say it was more the Co-Line cylinder heads than the blower! :D

Both DMPE and PSI make nice blowers - we have run quick with both.

But, if you are really serious - the blower (or even the engine) that ran numerous 60's -could be purchased.

Hey Trev, "Uncle" Tim again....I want to see you get your "Life Long Dream" on the track as much as anyone (well, except you!). You have an "honest" five second motor there (I went .70's with that stuff) The Blower I went 5.80 with sold for $3,000 on here a little while ago.....A good ole K-11 w/intake mods will get ya where ya want to go. As Dale just said, it take more than a blower to make a motor...It is the WHOLE package! Once the clutch, fuel system, etc...are "perfected" only then will you see the "value" of the trick-of-the-week blower! Remember my last season in IHRA? Bought 3-blowers and didn't go any facter than the one I replaced! THAT was a lesson learned! Hopefully I have just "learned" it for you!?
