Brooks 65 rod torque

    Can anyone help me out with the torque spec for Brooks 65 rods? Too bad Brooks is no longer around, Jerry was a great person to deal with.

    What color are the washers under the head bolts? Silver or black?

    Brooks rods

    Hi,

    This is what I've been told. Black washers up to 90 lbft in steps as below. Silver washer only to 75, same steps, only 50 WT oil, never ever grease, moly etc.

    Black washers - 50WT oil, 25, 45, 65, 75, 90
    Silver washers - 50WT oil, 25, 45, 65, 75

    So what happened to Brooks. Will they return to the business or have they closed forever?

    Thanks Marcel, good info.
    My rods are at the machine shop right now, I'll have to check monday on the washer color. I thought..... only the B2's were 90 lbs?
    I haven't heard what the final deal is with Brooks and/or Jerry. I have some B2's hanging out of my #1 motor - working on assembling #2 motor. Not sure what I will do for rod replacements when I get around to repairing #1...
