While at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at Zmax Dragway in Concord, NC a weeks back, we realized that we needed new S.F.I 20 boots before we teched in. The boots we had were pretty new, but they fell in the infamouse Impact grey zone and no longer passed tech. We were set to buy from another dealer when Dad walked to the Impact trailer and spoke with the representitive. We told him what we had and just asked if there was a price break for a new pair so we could compare to the Simpson price. He immidiatly said, "no problem, I will swap them out for you free of charge". Now I know what happened recently with the company sucked. But hearing some stories, it seems it may not have been all Simpson's fault. I just wanted to say thanks for looking out for a racer and I really do commend the company for trying to stay afloat and marching on.

I too was treated good when it came to a new suit, my boots had not been used and I wanted the silver ones and it was a straight trade at the trailer.

    Impact SFI Firesuit

I wonder if they will trade me even up for the $1,300.00 Impact SFI 15 Suit that is no longer legal, along with several friends of mine. "NOT". They screwed people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of product and did absolutly nothing about it, and endangered a lot of peoples lives trying to cover it up . My personal opinion is anyone doing business with this company is an idiot. Richard Putz

glenda gibson was kind enough to take our 20 gloves at the etown national and promised a pair back ASAP. after countless emails and phone calls, we realized we got screwed. by chance i answered one of bob peele's newsletters. turns out the gloves will not be in until early spring 2011! they even said pro's had to switch brands for 20 gloves. that company is sad and pathetic, not only for risking our lives, but for being assholes about it too

    Dan,

Your statement of "some" people not getting it is correct..... I am not on here hailing Impact as the #1 brand of safety equipment. We run their helmet and boots and they get the job done. The point is, that there are NUMEROUS teams that were effected by the Impact issue, and instead of crying about the issue and lynching the company and ALL their employees, I simply asked them, "what can you do for us" and without hesitation they made it right.

Shit happens. It sucks. I hate so many good people lost while they supported one of the largest names in racing safety products. I just want people to know that there are some "good" stories and interaction "Post" SFI fiasco, and that it does seem that Impact or at very least, their employees are trying to right some of the wrongs.

I hope that more and more of us that had issues, see those issues resolved in the near future. Good luck!
