SIMPSON recert -20

Hi Guys , we maybe travelling to CA late this month and want to take my -20 suit for retag.
I have e-mailed SIMPSON a few times but no response , can anyone help?

20 suit

steve johnson is an A1 guy couldn't afford a new suit so he recerted my old 20 down to 15 for free and didn't even charge me shipping to get it back,

 

will they not recert a -20 suit to a -20 are recert to a -15

 

mine was a 20 and now a 15 they also was very nice to deal with ..Dave

 

Simpson REcert

Any -20 Simpson Suit , Made before 2005 , will more than likely NOT recert to a -20 spec

Most all -20 Suits made AFTER 2005 Will more than likely recert to a -20 spec

Simpson has raised their standards on the -20 Suits since 05 , and suits made previous to 05 do not meet these new standards .

Consequently , they recert the early suit to a lesser spec , namely -15

Yep Steve Johnson at the 1407 W 240th address - I bought one of the -20's downgraded to -15 because that's what I needed. Used it for a couple years and it was due for recert. good service from simpson on the recert earlier this year.

Thanks again , I spoke to Steve this week , he has arranged everything for us. My suit is a 2005 so should be just fine for 20 again.

We had a great trip to CA and Vegas. The guys at Simpson retagged my suit back to a 20 , thanks guys.

Yes. Bought 2 -15's one for my me, and one for my wife. After one season they started the bullshit. Simpson sayed they could retag them with a 10. What the f**k good is a 10 to anyone. Never bought another Simpson product since. That is why I deal with Dennis Taylor and only Dennis on every safety product on me and my car.And that goes all the way down to my plug wire covers. Don

It was not that the older -20 simpson firesuits did not meet the current spec, that was not the case...Simpson had to draw a line on a year of cut off to satisfy Nhra,Sfi, and current owners that owened older suits.
I have a 1997 former -20 suit that I bought a few years ago that was brand new, and I was told that it actually has more material in it than a 2008 -20, but unfortunatly we had to create a year of cut off that we put into effect in 2007/2008.
Since my suits recert, or a should say Downgrade,.I now own and have been wearing a over built, over kill -15 one piece for two years now and feel extra safe, and extra comfy.
