tilton super starter solenoids

does any one have a better solenoid than
what comes on the tilton starter
screw blown brad 5
solenoids stick and sometimes only click
i run 24 volts and cranks engine great but 12 volts
wont fire the mag even with the mag only
i like the starters but the solenoid are not good
for 24 volts

I had that problem with the tilton too ,with a mallory mag.The capacitors were bad.Got new ones and it would fire on 12 volts.

also 2 different engins and mags
still same problem
and we dont crank it for oil pressure

Hot dog starter

I had big problems with starters. roland at csr fixed that deal. 24 volt starter and his 24 volt smart start box.big price tag but hey the blame things cranks.You know if it wont start you are dead in the water.We broke a gear set in one but it will shure spin that thing over.526 14-71 hemi with glide

 

GPE starters work great and will handle 24 volts. Greg is great to work with, I told him what combo I was running and what I want to do and have not had any problems, with the starter. Top Dragster, blown hemi, mallory mag.

I use a Meziere starter and they made me a 24v solenoid and it works AWESOM !
I wired it with a 24v RCD style solenoid inline , that way it draws no power thru the neutral safety switch or start button (ground to start).

BAE hemi -14-71 PSI - 44promag it turns almost as fast as my 48v RCD crank mount starter did !

 

Dave Meziere made me the 24volt starter solenoid and it has worked flawless. No probelms using 2 12volt rock batteries on board to crank a 481x. I highly reccommend the Meziere 24 starter and flywheel. andy b.
