Another question that hopefully someone will have an answer...

Does anyone know the weight of the following -

    - 6.2 Trick Titanium 7 1/2 or 8 1/8 can

    - 6.2 Browell Steel 7 1/2 can (this is what we use now)

Or even a rough guess on weight difference, 30+lbs?

You sure you just need a 6.2? even in our N20 super mod we needed 6.3, and we has a lot less horses and we wasnt sitting astride our lenco /drive shaft

    Got me paranoid now :)

    Yeah just checked, from rules...

FLYWHEEL SHIELD: TOP METHANOL DRAGSTER & TOP METHANOL FUNNY CAR
TMD and TMFC cars equipped with a clutch must have a flywheel shield (bellhousing) that meets SFI Spec 6.2 and is labeled accordingly. All requirements for TMD and TMFC bellhousing installations are the same as TF & FC with the following exceptions:

Same as current can but we want a lighter one.

ok cool im just surprised as your a lot closer to the clutch than we are and as i said a n20 car needs 6.3 a pro mod be it nn20 or blower is 6.3 i can understant the dragster being less spec as you dont ride along sitting with your legs wraped round the can but TMFC??? now that is wierd

I think you will find the 6.3 spec is for a can with a starter pocket, 6.2 is a higher rated can and has horizontal ribs on outside If you need a s/pocket order your can with these outer ribs it is much safer and will still pass 6.3

Here is a very nice 6.2 aluminum bellhousing from Lakewood that weighs only 25 LBS and feature a titanium explosion proof liner, and dose not have a starter pocket. If you need a starter pocket Lakewood can and will do custom jobs might make you a 6.3

    http://www.lakewoodindustries.com/pdf/74437G.pdf

You will get the whole Lakewood Catalog with this link. The aluminum bellhousing is on page 6

Doesn't someone make an aluminum/fiber bellhousing, I searched but can't seem to find anything on it.

So if the alum ones are 25 lbs total about how much are the steel, titanium and alum/fiber ones weigh?

    Aluminum

Do the aluminum ones have a tendency to crack?
