I am looking for info on piston pin heght and rod lenght in a std deck fathead hemi.My motor is 4.375 bore/ 4.500 stroke. BAE billet block ,fatheads, kobelco K8 w/ DMPE mods. We are looking to run @ 50%. I have seen all kinds of different com height for pistons. Just would like to know what is some of the more comon combo's that work well. This will be used in a 2wd truck puller @ 8000 rpm's. Thanks for any help

Don't know about common, but ours are 1.555 comp height also on a 4.375 bore with rods made to match.

    Comp Hgt.

I would say run a pin height high. Also hope the block is std. or 100 + You can run a longer rod because of that long of stroke I am sure you know the reasons. I run a CH of 1.55 with a std. stroke + block. with a long rod. Motor is is very happy. for what I do. don

    bae rods/ piston pin height

Thanks for the reply guys I didn't think I was going to get an answer. Are your piston's a off the shelf deal ( if so who's?) or are they custom. Thanks again

friend had an older set of bae fuel heads he used a 4.5 stroke and 1.428 piston comp height, with 7.08 rod length and a .043 thou gasket on a stage 10 std deck block. heard 1.428 are off the shelf pistons, but not sure for ur heads though. older fuel heads were 165 to 176 cc.

Maybe think about calling BAE and see which piston they stock for your combo , he has them on the shelf and from what I hear his prices are pretty fair .

Ours are Arias, but non-stock items. They may very well be BAE standard, but I haven't asked them yet. Last time I asked they were around 90 usd / 4 weeks delivery from Arias.

    Call BAE

Not sure which series of fathead you have? BAE has a shelf "funny car" piston that they sell at a good price. My combo is similar .300 long rod = 11.5:1 no clearance issues. Other I have talked with are in the .250-.300 long range on the rod 4.500 stroke, std deck, fathead. Hope that's some direction on your question. BAE is a good call to make, Jeromy may point you towards someone with the similar combination to talk with.
