I have a pro mag 44 running through a timing retard and a six shooter. I am using a crank trigger also. I tried to set the timing up a little at the hit then pull it out a couple seconds into the run. I have a 2 degree chip in the idle slot and a zero in the next slot and a 2 degree chip in the rest of the slots. I am running this through a leahy 15 channel timer. The leanouts are also run through the leahy timer and they work just fine but the six shooter doesnt seem to be doing anything. I and several other guys have gone over the hook ups on this deal and it seems right. It idles at the right setting but the timing wont change at the hit as it should. Anybody got any ideas? Since you didn't say what the timing is, Are you trying to pull more time out of the thing than you have static timing in the motor? I Dave is a hard guy to contact over the phone. Just send it in but make sure you label it rushed if you need it quick. He works on things as they come in. Just fair. Don

I spoke with Dave and from what he says everything is connected right. I have the motor static timing advanced two degrees. The idle slot has a 2 degree chip in it and the motor idles at the correct timing as checked with a timing light. But when I activated the switch under the throttle pedal which should switch the timing to the next slot in the six shooter it doesn't do anything. I have tried putting different chips in and taking them out and it doesn't do anything different. Maybe its time to send it to Dave. I bought this timing retard and six shooter used and haven't ever tried it before. Maybe it wasn't such a good deal? Dave

Those switches are NO or NC. just double check it to make sure you have it right. There is a ground , a power in, and power out. that would be the green wire from his box. Good luck. Don

I tried both sides, changed the wiring from one side to the other. Changed the chips from one side to the other. Just doesn't seem to work. I bought it used a few years ago, never used it till now. My fault, maybe it was junk to start with? Dave Germain
