526 BAE 1471 K8 3200 lbs auto trans door car 10.5 w's tires. Using lean out silinoid while on 2 step- installed big cap think the rotor was to far out of phase and not able to jump the gap while taking out 14 degrees still stalls, fattened out the 2 step silinoid down to a .060 and leaned it out all the way to a .135 still stalls not every time though! Did put all of the timing in 26 degrees and bingo it don't stall but go figure it blows the tires off every time! Here is the weird part put it on the 2 step in the pit and bingo no stalling with 14 out, pull to the line do a burn out back up blah blah get on the 2 step pop pop pop stall--- Fuck any ideas?

What Launch Retard are you using? Is it a Six Shooter, a 8973 or what? Are you using a Pro Mag 44? Have you tried less retard such as 10 degrees?

im using a lehay box with a 6 shooter and yes on the pro mag 44! Haven't tried less timing. Thats what I was thinking hopefully it will hook with say 10 degrees out.

When on the two step you need to check if the port nozzles are flowing or not. The port poppet needs to be set so they are off but will turn on at a little higher fuel pressure. During a good stage on the two step what is the average EGTsWhat are you plugs gapped at?Do you have a crank trigger?A large cap on the Mag will make the air gap for the spark to jump worse when you retard 14 degrees.

mike so port popets should not be on while on the two step? i knew they should just be at crack point when when swaping feet but did not know the same thing applied on the two step. we pull fuel out now on two step .125 while on two step we have 55 psi of fuel pressure and 48 lbs pf boost. so you are saying that we need to up the port noz pop pressure(55psi) so it will not be open on two step. port noz crack point is now set at 31 lbs. fuel flow is at 9.5 gpm on two step( psi screw)
    thanks

We are talking about a Rootes blower here and that is the way I have always set them up. The best way is to set them up with GPM using a fuel flow sensor. A Rootes needs around 5.25 GPM at around 5000 stage RPM
