rods

    what are some reasons for rods breaking and comeing out the block

    rods exiting the block

    Bill, There are about a million reasons for rods exiting the block. Too little oil, too much timing, too old of rods, too lean conditions, loose rods bolts, torque wrenches that are out of calibration, too many runs on them. I am sure the other guys here will have half a jillion reasons for rods breaking. Dave Germain

    I would say the most common cause is an over rev and the rod bolts stretch or the rods have to many runs on them. What ever the cause it always sucks to see it happen.
