old datalogger sensor

    i have a datalogger 9305( big box )and i need driveshaft rpm sensor and pressure sensor 200lbs its back order ,idon't know if i can put another kind same racepack

    Hi, just trying to make sense of your post, are you asking if it's ok to mix manufacturer's parts for dataloggers? If you are, the answer is usually yes.

    There are two generic types of sensors; two-wire and three-wire. They both generate a voltage signal as the magnet passes the sensor (RPM) or as pressure changes (pressure sensor). The two-wire is the older type and they aren't used much any more. The three-wire is very good and common with most (all?) dataloggers. They all use power from the datalogger (5VDC) in the red and black wires (supplied from the datalogger) and the green is the signal wire. The signal input to the datalogger can take up to 5VDC but no more! If you want to put a switch on something to monitor a specific position (WOT, clutch, etc), you only need the red wire into the switch and the green wire out for the signal. Easy.

    sorry for my English I'm not English, it's hard for me to write here but it's better to sit information thank you to ita.I have 3 wire with a multimeter between the red and black I have 8 volts. I can put a sensor 5 volt?

    sensor v

    your 8v is probably open circuit voltage, it will be ok with 5 volt senor, the senor load will pull the 8v down to 5v or so
