So, I got into a conversation on how much over you can spin a blower before you start to creat too much heat and start going in down in how much your flowing and what not.

littlefield 6-71 cast rotors spiral cut gears (dont know if that makes a diff.) and brand new strips all around. So what % do you think?

    6-71 od

Hi there, we found that around 40-45% OD on a teflon 6-71 was about the limit. Any more OD gave no improvement in ET or mph. This was on an alcohol BB Chev. Cheers

At what max engine RPM? We used to run 68%, now we run 43% (because of rules) and our blowers spin faster now than when we had the fast overdriven pullies on.

Don't forget to include engine RPM:)

    Blower OD

Hi, we were running approx 7800 engine rpm at 45% over, went up to 52% and slowed down.

    Ok,

So this weekend in PJ Iowa, We slowed alot, almost .500 sec. really bad. we are spinning ours 55% at 7000 shift and the same at the traps. We are making 20 to 22 lbs. which is what we were making at 40% at 7000 and the same in the traps. the blower is loose, have a fresh one on the shelf and after the valve train repairs that we have to make following PJ, Ill be putting it on. so maybe some things will turn around.

On a side note/question, I noticed that our motor was really fat this week end. could or would that be caused by the blower not be as productive? we went from 1 to almost 2 treads with heat to just barely coloring half of the top of the plugs, and before anyone asks no I dont have any egt numbers, just not enough in the budget.

    So, what does everyone think?

If you ever get the chance to visit Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction Iowa, Do it! Road Kill and his crews do a great job and put together a Great show and the fans just dont stop showing up.
