i'm ready to set engine in my car..thinking of building a plate that would bolt in place of hat on blower that would have a lfting eye in the middle of it..would this work for lifting engine with engine host[cherry picker]and setting in car or would that be to much weight on the blower top and 4 bolts?

We put the engine in without the blower then install it afterward. We built a rig to put the blower on with the crane as well. (sounds kinda lazy but it works great. No cut O-rings)

What are you putting it in? If you can lift it they sell handles for heads on + off. Also you can use 2 straps wrapped around the headers, tight to the head. if you can install with headers on. I always install mine in the dragster with heads off. and use the handels from Tripple TTT. Chassis make great engine stands. They use those plates bolted to a alum intake in carb. cars, with 1/4 in bolts. you just have to make sure they are good + tight. Don

We use a lift plate on top of the intake. Be sure not to use your aluminum Blower studs to lift. I know it sounds like common sense but you would be suprised what "green" crew guys will try. We also use straps if the motor is complete from pan to hat. They go right under the zoomies and up over the hat.

    Lifting strap

I have a lifting strap that is a continous loop that is about 10 ft long. I lift my TAFC motor with it wrapped under the exhaust studs on both sides with the loops brought together in the middle. Works great. I've seen some of the pros doing it this way so I tried it. Dave Germain

Try restaint straps, hook 2 together with your quick release pins then attach to hook on crane. drop complete engine in.

i think the easiest is just for me and a buddy to pick it up and set the short block in the car then put it together with it in the car it seems to be a pain some times with using a cherry picker you got to get the car up for the cherry picker to go under the car and if you tight on room it faster to just set it in the car and no weight pulling on the studs that are in alum just my 2-cents worth
