Still trying to figure out what exactly is meant by the new rules about hydrostatic testing of fuel and oil lines.

Specifically, who can test them. If anyone knows of someone who can tag lines in Florida or anywhere for that matter, please let me know.

The way I read it is if it is for IHRA racing, + it is not factory crimped, you do not need it tagged. I am sure I read it wrong. But you need to get it checked anyway. I would say call Hyatt today. NHRA doesn't race for a couple of weeks. He is only in Ohio You could have them back by the weekend if you need to. Good Luck

    CV Products

Just sent my lines out to CV products in NC.

$5 per line for testing and tagging. Quick turn around as well.

I run nostalgia top fuel with NHRA but the rules are starting to look a lot like Top Alky.

    ??

I havent seen where NHRA is requiring fuel lines to be tested and tagged for TAFC. Is this something I have missed? Dave Germain

    Lines tested

I'm not sure which classes are being required to test lines.
When I talked with CV products, they told me they were doing it for several classes.

NHRA came up with this new rule for Nostalgia Top Fuel but most of their rules are based on something in the normal NHRA rule book but I was unable to find info anywhere on their web page or rules.

I'd find it hard to believe that my class is the only one requiring it and having all those companies set up for it based on, perhaps, a total of 15 cars nationwide?

    Tagging of lines

In some respects this is a worthless endeavor. As soon I remove a fitting and reassemble it, the test is void and invalid. Do they tag the lines in such a way that the fittings and therefore the sealed part of the assembly can't be disturbed?

Does anyone know what drove them to implement this rule? Was there a bunch of line failures that caused fires, oil downs, etc?
