Can not get the 7531 put fire in the hole swap over to Mag and starts fine. Fellow Racer from Dallas thinks we need more cranking RPMs 16volt to GRP starter not sure what RPMs racepak is not picking that up on the start. Leahy Crank Trigger set at 40 connected to green and violet out of 7531 and ground connected to engine which is ground in two diiferent areas, violet from mag connected to Grey, Yellow from 7531 to 44 pionts box, Big red and black to battery and Small red to Switch. Blown hemi with Screw, and Try starting on Gas not Alc. Any help appreciated. Follow the directions on cutting off rev burn and trigger and sparkoff as directions said and verified and agian.

I assume your using the MSD site instruction. Did you also review the "Addendum" they posted http://www.msdpromag.com/pdf/Addendum_ 7531.pdf This indicts there are two versions of the 7531 so they take different procedures.
    Does this help?

    Blessings............Ron Clevenger.

    Won't start

Look + make sure that the male plugs have the pins all the way down. Also that there are good grounds. Also DO NOT plug the red end into the wrong plug. Will fry the box + leahey battery. Are the red + green lights on + bright.? I had the same problem. but haven't ran it off the six shooter yet. Don

We run the same setup. Make sure the start retard is turned off. We couldn't get our's to start either. 24 volts turned it fast enough to start, and even then I believe we were starting off the change over switch from mag to crank trigger. You could try the change over switch so you can start on the mag. 16v should be enough I would think.

...you might also try checking for spark. We had no spark w/ 12 volts running off the mag. 24volts showed plenty of spark.

MSD makes it. P/N 7990. Takes about 30 seconds to hook up. It's just a toggle switch so you can start the car on the mag, then while it's running flip the switch and you're now running off the crank trigger. Just make sure you're timing is the same on mag and crank trigger. Scroll to the bottom of link below:

I had the same problem, just went through this. Send me a PM and I can give you the settings I used in the MSD Software. It definately wont start with the start retard function enabled with any values programmed in.
