I talked with my motor guy and he says since I only run 1/8th mile, I'll be ok with wet sump. I asked, but he'd never done it, so i thought i'd throw it out here. I have a p&p dry sump pump now, anyone see any probs with using it for the wet sump and just leave the scavenge side uncorked?

I would not do it. I would spend the few hundred for a wet sump pump. Not worth the damage that could be caused to the P&P or the motor.

    Danny,
It kind of depends on what size pan you've got, if it's a 3x5 funny car pan, you will more than likely suck it dry unless you overfill it, even on an 1/8th mile. I've done it with a wedge motor so I know a Hemi will empty it. If you've already got the dry sump pump why not use it if you have the room for the tank. Just extra insurance.

Danny may car only runs in the 4.15on the 1/8 and 6.3x on the 1/4 and in order to save some weight ( 25 pounds exact) we have run the p&p on the 1/4 and a KB ultra pump , moroso f/c oil pan with 12 quarts at the eight mile. Without trouble .

We dont rev the engine to the moon either only 8900 at the shift , the main thing is, IF you plan to high rev the deal no matter what race track keep the dry sump , its better for the engine....However a wet sump car be less weight if your not turning the engine too hard.

This is a promod , kb15 block, brad 5 head with a whipple blower....
