Sleeve boring?

    Possible to bore-hone a sleeve out of a block?????
    got a couple spares need sizing

    sleeves

    Most any good quality machine shop that does race motors should be able to do it. They need the jig. I know about 3 machine shops that do it on the East coast. Mike @ Rage does mine. Don

    you can buy new ones from places like BAE, KB, Darton, and I would assume AJPE that are ready to use. i would check with BAE or AJPE if you can send yours to them. both of those places do repairs so maybe it's worth a phone call ?

    Yeah called AJ already, will try Brad next
    these were some oversize od from a CN block, bought em from CN and they didnt have a block to bore them in.

    I think darton sleeves are around $68.00 I will let you know tomorrow I have to order some..Dave

    Dave,

    Is that for a finished sleeve? When I called KB and talked to Ken, his price was about $180 per sleeve finished honed. Seemed a little high to me.

    we have bored them out of the block a few times, and it's not really a big deal if you make a jig. the new sleeves are made from pretty tough stuff, so it's a little more time consuming. honestly, do yourself a favor and call Darton....they aren't that expensive to buy new.
