I am restripping one Kobelco K8 and one Kuhl , both H/H and 14/71.
Do you know the inside case Diameter for these 2 ? ( for cutting of the outer strips )

    Thanks in advance

you have to put the rotors back in the case without the strips and you use a feeler gauge to find the distance from rotor to case and that is how you determine how many thousand't to machine the blacks..Dave

    Thanks Dave and Greg !
That puts me in the right direction.
I thought you normally mascined the (blacks ) up agains the case bore size.

Another thing : is it worth the effort installing teflon end plugs to the inside of rotors ( The K8 already has )
    Thanks in advance

it does help but I also had some plugs cause me some real problems..I had a k11 with teflon plugs and we lost some plugs out the front in the retro area and it took several valves out with it:mad:..so now I don't run plugs I didn't see any differance in boost...Dave

In dyno testing we picked up 8-9% boost, I don't recall the HP, this was 6 years ago with a k8 LF 8-71 at 43% overdrive.
We used aluminum slugs that we pressed into the ends of the rotors and then drilled and tapped into them with little countersunk bolts to keep them in. We put 1/8 npt in the ends a built a little slidehammer to take them out for access to the nuts for blower restripping.

I've got a SSI that has longer screws going through the teflon into the plugs... hope that's enough

    Restripping / rotor plugs

Great feedback from you all , keep the good tips coming really great for a amateur like me.
Interesting about the added boost with end-plugs ( the previus owner of the K8 had plugs installed and based on that or not they have always produced good numbers with that blower. )

    Thanks
    Geir.
