    Hi Guy's
Just looking for some tech info.
I bought a Littlefield 871 and an MSD mag for a short deck Chev.
The Mag is hitting the back of the blower and won't go into the hole straight.
It is an adjustable mag for tall or short deck.
My question is can I buy another drive for the bottom of this mag or do I need to look for something offset?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Which MSD mag are you running. We use a MSD12 with a Littlefield 8-71 on a Mooneyham manifold. We had to grind a bit of the "Littlefield" name off the middle of the gear cover right where the mag goes, but it clears nicely.

I have an MSD 12 as well but have a Weiand manifold.
What size of front motor plate do you guy's use?
I'm wondering if the blower flange on the weiand is further back than normal.
There is definately no way this will fit even with grinding the cover.

Yea, another guy I know just went through this with a Weiand manifold. If I remember right, that manifold is set back about 1" compared to the Mooneyham. Either a manifold change or an offset drive is in your future. Good luck...

The manifold sounds like it would be cheaper.

Hey Jason....one other thing to consider with the adjustable mag drive.....there was a post here a month ago about an oil pressure problem...Steve Walczak changed blocks on a BBC and had a depth problem with the drive as the cam height changed....everything else was the same as before....it drove him nuts until he figured out that the mag drive collar needed to be adjusted to compensate for the different cam placement....low oil pressure problem went away once it was in the correct location...just make sure that the mag drive is the correct depth into the block.....

Howdy, We had the same problem with an old Weiand manifold. I have a spacer plate that moves the blower forward and up about an inch. This worked just fine on our 468 BBC and should work for your application. We have 2 of them and wouldn't mind giving one of them up. Let me know if you might be interested. Our performance wasn't hurt by using this spacer. Ran in the high 6 seconds in an altered with this set up.

    Thanks for the info Guys
I am going to try another manifold and see if that gives me the room , may not be able to use the offset due to the location of my midplate just have to space my crank pulley and tensioner.
Sanders Bros, how far ahead did your spacer move the blower??
May have to give you a call on that spacer.

    Thanks

    Jason..
