8973 trigger wire routing?

    Does the shielded trigger wire need to be kept away from the two wires that run from the points box to the coil, or does the shielding protect it? The way my system is laid out it would be really super ultra convenient to run them side-by-side for about a foot.

    It would probably be worth the inconvenience to keep them seperate. Parallel runs are the worst for RFI.

    I agree, keep them separate. Those wires to the primary side of the coil have a 12 volt 44 amp trigger going through them. That kind of trigger creates a massive field around those wires.

    I was afraid of that. Since the boxes are fairly close together by necessity (the rev limit cord isn't that long), the routing options tend to be common between the boxes. I'll go pull my lawn chair up next to it and scratch my head for a while, and see what pops to mind.
