Torque-Link ?

    Any of you guys familiar with running the Torque-Link on a Lenco.
    I have one and am planning on running it I just dont know anyone who has and I am looking for any info or suggestion.
    I am talking to Pat Donovan who I understand is the man on these units.I would appreciate any input you guys might have..........thanks.

    I have Donovan torque-link since 2005 , i ran it coupled to a jeffco 3 speed planetary in my Ford 34 top sportman with blown BBC ,i ran 7.05 at 2650 lbs , then i ran the same unit since 3 years in my top dragster with cs2 lenco 3 speed coupled to 456 BAE screw, and i ran 5.93 / 236 with it . Very simple desing piece , air brake works great , no problem . the only thing i up-grade on it is the oil pan , the std unit came with very small pan , i think 6 qt , i made oil pan that hold 11 qt.

    Sorry guys I didnt think of the search ........I will check that.
    As far as info I have been told by one person that they increased the oil capacity too and I asked Pat about it and he said it wasnt necessary to do that and he wouldnt recomend it, why I dont know, it would seem to me there are many advantages to more fluid.
    I will be mating this with a Lenco cs1 three speed in a 3200lb door car with a keith black 426 blown on alcohol.
    I guess I was wanting to hear this would work ok with a car of this weight, which is a different application then with a much lighter dragster.
    Also it is totally new to me as I dont know anyone in our area that has used one so unlike a lenco drive or a bruno, I have never heard of them.
    I am commited to it and its being sent to Pat right now to be recerted, I was hoping you guys that have run them could fill us in on the little things we should be doing or watching for.
    Sorry for the long post and thanks for the input guys, this site is soo educational for us rookies.

    Hi BigG,
    I was there (and still on Wildride boy team...) when he had some oil temperature issues with this set-up.
    He installed a oil gauge on his tranny so we could follow it on the line before the run. Next, he built a larger capacity oil pan and add an oil heat/exchanger to his set-up. Since that, it's trouble free. ;)
    And FYI, it's "quite amazing" how hard his current T/D screw BAE hit that Torque-link. :D

    I guess we are headed the right direction then since we have the temp sensor and the cooler allready installed.
    When you say you increased the pan capacity can you give me a rough idea how much bigger of a pan you made?
    I saw where they said they went to an 11 quart just curious how much bigger that made the pan.
    It sounds like this will be a very good unit from what I have heard so far.............any other opinion or stories...........thanks.

    Charles, thank you very much that is very helfull.
    Is the bung in the top of the pan for the temp sensor?
    And am I assuming correct that the four fittings in the bottom act like feet?
    Thanks again for going to the trouble to get those up they will help.

    Hi BigB,
    You will notice that Claude took the base of the original pan to build this one. You need thoses plugs to access to the original bolts that hold it.
    Regarding the bung for the oil temp sensor, you're right Sir. ;)
