I'm putting together a 540 ci blower motor for my 1900 pound altered with a glide, and I was wondering where I should have the converter stall? I ran it last year with an injected 540 and stalled it at around 5200.:) It worked great. I just think that the blower motor is going to build a lot more grunt and 5200 may be to high . Any imput would be very helpful.
    Thanks Chuck.

when I was running a blown chevy I went with A-1 converter. a 10" 4000 stall. It will keep you from striking the tires to hard. just my 2cents of experience. your results may vary. whats in bobs' alterd?

Bob says his is like 3800, but Ken doesn't think so. Any way have you seen Bobs car launch? I would like a little better results than that. I was thinking 4300 to 4500.

How much do you think? I was thinking 4300 to 4500. Is that still to much?
    Thanks, Chuck

It's really going to depend on your power level,....car weight,... rear end gear and tires.
I'd probably start out a little too tight and work from there. Too lose and it will be pretty violent on the starting line....or should I say can be.

    Blessings..........Ron Clevenger.

maybe a 4200-4500 range would help keep the pump up where you would want it. it would tug on the motor for the bad tracks. thats the problem with a converter-short wheelbase blown car. different stalls needed, no slip.:eek: sell it all and get a clutch, you know you want too. ;) and it will help break the weak 8 3/4 rearend. Ah yes, the money pit has sucked in another one. :p
