If you use a set of fuel headers on a alcohol motor, how far off will the temp readings be due to the fuel probe location being so far away from the head vs. the 1.5 in from the head for alcohol? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I may be mistaken but the bungs are still in the same location, I do know that the probes are diffrent.

The ones I've seen, the bungs on fuel headers are twice as far from the head.

Bill; from what I've seen, you're correct. Most std. alky are 2" from head face, while nitro are usually 4". My guess is they'll read cooler, but by how much, probably only you will know by making back to back runs with few changes (Not timing change) and learning the difference.

I agree, the temps should be cooler. I was hoping someone had a ball park, this is my first blown alky put together with a lot of used fuel parts. I can't make the back - back runs.

The EGT read is going to corollate to your own personal spark plug read. That's the only way to safely tune, let the plug read lead your tune up.

For what's worth -- I talked with racepak today and they indicated the temps would be 200 - 300 degrees cooler. No hard data, just a best estimate.
