Where can I get some plastic tags to show that my oil lines have been pressure tested. I want to test myself and tag. I have see some plastic tags inwhich racers ingraved the date on them. Any idea were I can purchase these sort of tags?

    hose

If you already have the hose, They will test them + tag them for only a few bucks @ a Nat. event. There is some things you can sidestep but oil lines are not one of those things. Bad thing happen. Don

    Oil Line Testing

I looked into becoming a line testing center a while back and Baker told me all you have to do is make the tags you want. Then you have to submit a tag that you plan to use with a distription of the procedures you plan to use for testing. If they approve the procedures then your tags go into a data base. When they see them at national events they can reference if you have gotten approval or not. Sounds like a lot too do but not really. Basically I got the impression that as long as they know what your doing and you don't try to trick them its all good.

    Hope this helps

    NHRA TS rulebook:

"All flexible-pressure oil lines, excluding return lines and any line30psi or lower in pressure, must pass a minimum 300psi test for 30seconds with no indications of separation, weeping, leaking, etc.Competitors may test and tag their own lines. Label must indicatedate, psi, and tester ID; label must be impervious to fuel and brake-clean. Lines must be tested and tagged within two years. All lineson supercharged alcohol cars must be routed in such a way thatthey are not directly in line with cylinder head gaskets at the front, rear, or side of the cylinder heads."

This is what I want to do, I don't attend Nationals and I have 2 cars so that's alot of testing and shipping.

    Thanks

XRP lists the pieces to make a pressure tester in their catalog. The rule book says you can do your own. I am in the same boat- I just need the tags. I am betting my pressure hoses are more thoroughly tested than most. They damn well better be-it's my car that will be crashing if I drive over my own oil. Dave Germain

I use stainless steel cable ties and engrave them with one of those little electric pencils. I've used the plastic tags in the past, but no matter what you do the brake clean and stuff wipes the writing off.

I picked up a couple bags of the stainless cable ties the other day from Princess Auto for $12.99 for 40 of them - probably the equivalent to Harbour Freight down there for you guys.
