lencodrive brake rpm good to

    what rpm is the lencodrive brake good to
    long story short mine just burnt up at 4800 rpm
    then i lowered it to 3800 (air throttle) and set two step to 4000
    and it hits two step and drive shaft starts turning
    c screw@ 112 od, 25 degree timing, 9 psi boost @3800rpm
    new lenco and converter still in garage and want to
    go race but i dont want this all the time
    i hated the clutch but i can deal with all the clutch work
    any help would be apreciated efore i change back to clutch

    Be aware that on jack-stands, even in neutral, a powerglide will turn the wheels....you can stop them with your foot. This only happens when the trans is cold. I assume it could happen to a lencodrive also.

    Smell the fluid....if it's burnt you likely burned the clutches up. What fluid are you running? I hold mine with the button and footbrake, have for several years. Your best bet is to call Mick/Larry Snyder (219-987-2921) and explain it to them, they designed it.

    Sorry, I didn't read your post right. If you are on the "brake" and it rotates I don't have a clue..... but as Brandon said you can hold it with the footbrake or as alot of others have done put a line lock on it tied to the T-brake release so that when it leaves the line lock will turn loose. I have heard of some people breaking rear disc's like this though when the line lock didn't release quick enough, never seen it first hand though.

    i would not recommend using a line loc - i have seen the broken rotor - it is not pretty - the problem arises with the tranny brake releasing faster than the line loc - instant rotor destruction. andy burnet

    what rpm are you setting your air throttle to
    loaded on brake
    then are you seting 2 step say like 200 rpm higher
