We are just getting our Brad back together. Wanted to crank it with a blower starter to check it out. We have not put the clutch or flywheel on yet.

Does anyone see an issues with firing it up without a flywheel on it?

    Thanks

I did this once for a local display - was waiting for the converter to come back from Chance and had a commitment on the display....and it did work fine....but the idle was higher and more erratic...

yeah i have done it before no problem, idle was a little higher, just dont start it with the flywheel on bye itself, had a customer do that once, first time he revved it up the studs for the stands folded out with centrifugal force and cut the two rails next to the motor in half made a hell of a mess

I had a buddy do that and hurt the motor when he reved it with 0 load on it.
It may have been a coincidence but , why chance it ?

I have done it with no problems. It will idle funny and possibly hunt (Lope) abit. I would not touch the throttle though. :)

Lol. I've had a flywheel come back like that. Amazing what even idle can do, just think of the outward forces at 10k.
