I have just taken the damper off and found the 2 keys are headed to shear mode.

    BBC snout on the crank

Damper is steel centre with aluminium outer.

    16/71 32% over.

P/G 10 pack, high clutch had popped the outer seal causing the piston to tilt and pressure the high pack on.

2 shake down 2/3rd passes, 2nd one severe tyre shake on the shift from low to high.

What kind of damper bolt are you using and how much torque are you putting on it?

    shake

Don't know about other stuff, except did you use a GOOD -8 or 9 bolt + washer torqued correctly? Try putting some fuel back into it @ the shift. will help calm it down a little, along with some other changes. Don

Does the hub fit tight on the crank snout?
Does the hub have a hairline crack in it?

Using a custom stud made from 4340, nut torqued to 160lb. (have a crank support with oil pump driven off the front of this)

Damper fits nice and firm, no visible cracks.

    Never had this happen before.

    crank keys

There was a thread on here some time back about special key material being hardened again to stop this. I think mine came from dmpe.
I am sure someone knows where to get it.

Casale Engineering came up with hardened key stock for Austin Coil when they were running keyed cranks before splined cranks came out.

    I stock this keystock. $20.00 a 1 ft stick.

    Call 626 815-8815 9 to 5 M-F PST.
