have a mallory super mag111 that is mounted in front of engine by a summers bros front mag drive on a bbc;;been told a universal plug wire kit is going to be on the short side so i'm thinking i'll need to buy a spool of wire and build my own custom set..what plug wire should i use and roughly how many feet do i need to buy?i'm thinking the taylor 10.4m thundervolt 50's but looking for what i should use..like to go with red[for looks]and like the looks of the 10.4m's ..open for all suggestions...also need to know if i need the 30ft roll or the 100ft roll or are there some out there in kit form that would be long enough..can e-mail pics if needed
    thanks

We have the similar but use a 44 and the long (under the header) leads look as though they might just fit if they are used over the top and run over the covers.

but we are just getting a roll of the MSD cable only because it is a 44mag

neither do we so we are getting the MSD bulk wire.

On a different matter (the Summer Bros drive) did you have to extend your blower belt forward to clear the drive?

I use to use the solid core Taylor wires with my vertex and mallory mags . you dont need a spool of wire .
They sell sets to make coustom length wires ... they come with one end made up then you cut and finish the other end ;)

    Hi Don,
The Taylor 409 wires come in RED with the spark plug ends of your choice and cut to fit distributor ends .

hi ricky;;;thanks again for doing such a nice job on modify my valve covers to clear my port nozzles.everyone that has looked at them on engine brags about how nice of a proffessor job it is.
on the plug wires i am concern that the unversial ones may be to short due to running them under headers.the taylors will work ok then with a autometer data logger and tach/shift light?i read that some plug wires causes false readings on the egt's and even somtimes kepts tach and shift light from working.

My ThunderVolts are spiro pro wire and not wire core. Used to run computer in front by mag and had no interference ! The 409's are wire core so I'm not sure.

Anyone on here tried the FireCore 50 wires yet? I have heard a lot of good things about them on friends nitrous cars but I don't know anyone who has used them on a blown alky combo yet, however it seems that a lot of really fast blown alky and nitro people have had sucess with them lately. One of the benefits is supposed to be reduced EMI/RFI which is always a good thing in these days of multiple electronics.
