I am woundering if any one has any information on running nitrogen in slicks. I know its not suposed gain and lose air pressure with temp changes. It seems like it would be helpful when sitting in stagging lanes for long periods of time. My real question is if you run say 6 1/4 pounds air pressure cold then you do a burn out the pressure will be greater with air say 7 lbs???( I really dont know how much it increases), so should you put 7 lbs of nitrogen since its not going to gain air pressure??? this is promod car with bead locks no liners hooser 34.5 2055. and how much will air pressure normaly increase I know dependes on burn out but moderate guess
    Thanks Eddie

It really doesn't matter. If you do all your pre-race procedures the same every time, once you figure out what pressure is ideal it doesn't matter how much it changes during the burnout.

Nitrogen is good for exactly the reasons you mention.

Nitrogen does expand when heated, just doen't contain moisture.

So does it not expand as much?

Whats bad about moisture in the normal air?

It expands the same, but air with moisture expands more.
