Either spring will be great. I am fond of both. The lash locs are GREAT, but they are not a bolt on deal, you MUST have a good machinist intall these, the clearance from top of valve to top of lock must be DEAD ON or you will have a problem.
I wouldnt run that hemi without them. FYI. But they must be set up correct.

    hey there
i run NRE x1's on my alcohol dragster here in aus, im running the manley duals with manley ten degree titanium retainers and manley ten degree titanium (bead) locks, we have tried something a little different, we dont run a lash cap or anything like that, we are using t&d rockers and they have a very narrow and central sweep accross the valve tip so we just got the valves made with hardened tips, before i ran t&d we had grimmes stands and normal bae hi ratio exhaust and stg 5 intakes, i wouldnt have tried this with that rocker setup, the lack of lash cap or lock cap reduces the weight a little and is one less thing to have to worry about with the whole lash cap or lock cap etc, in saying this, before i ran the hardened tip we used the manley lock cap setup in ten degree and it worked well and never let me down.
I install the springs at 585 intake and 550 exhaust after the first run they drop anywhere up to 50 lbs but then settle in, i leave at 6000 and shift at around 10400-10500 and cross the line around the same, they work fine for me but with that much rpm i dont think you will make any spring last for a real long time i have also ran 1360 pac springs and had success with them, the new pac 1320 spring i have also heard to be good but am yet to try them, also psi has a new dual with a lower spring rate that is supposed to work.
Every combo is different cam specs, rocker type, pushrod diameter and wall thickness, valve weights etc, and they all run differently i think all the springs are good you just have to find the one that works with your particular combo, i had springs that would never work in one engine yet work in others that where different, i like the manleys yet i know people who trash them in one run same with pac, psi, i have guys who run triple springs and they last fine but i could never get anymore than 2 runs before they wher 150 lbs down on tension and with all the tips in the oil pan.
the good thing with the NRE head is you can run the same spring on both sides which makes life a little easier, hope all my rambling helps

    hey tom
my engine is 471ci with a psi d, im getting 10-12 runs on my springs which i think is ok considering the rpm we turn, if i came back a little in rpm i have no doubt they would last longer.
I had the first set of heads, jamie noonan from NRE crews on my car so we developed them on our car for 12 months before they were available to everyone, let me know what info you want on them and ill gladly let you know, thanks
