need a part number for front cam bearing (or set) KB stage 10 w/ 2.125 camshaft. heard some where it uses 390 ford cam brgs..any help would be appreciated.
also, this bearing split at the oil hole and walked out. never ran into this before. cam looks good..block appears to be ok...sure glad we caught it in the pits. any guesses why it happened?

The Genuine Keith Black cam bearing sets have properly re-located oil holes in them.
Using others that just fit the hole can be disastrous to your engine.
When the cam was raised for stroke clearance it required relocating the oil holes and angles. The larger diameter cam journals also required the same thing.
This is a common oiling problem using the wrong cam bearing in raised cam blocks of any brand.
Remember to remove the set screws with a long Allen wrench before trying to remove the bearings.
Mark the oil holes you have to line up with a Magic Marker on the bearing and the block. Number them while you have the marker in hand.
I personally put the cam bearings in the freezer before installing them as they go in easier with less wear on the aluminum block.
Use no lube to install the bearing in the block.
Do not polish up the bearing bore in the block.
Tap them in slow with a firm blow, do not just bash away.
Put the set screws back in with a little drop of lock-tight while making sure the set screws do not go to far in. Over tightening the set screws will distort the bearing bore causing uneven wear on the bearing this in turn can cause hot spots from a tight cam.
If your cam bearings walked out your set screw is missing.
A split bearing is rare unless the block split too. This would cause the set screw to come loose.
Genuine Keith Black cam bearing sets are one piece style with no interlocking seam to split open.

Yes I personally do sell overstock, old inventory and used parts along with other unusal and strange items on eBay and all proceeds are for extra money to spend on the MONEY EATING MONSTER aka the race car.
I also buy parts for my personal projects off this site along with others and eBay as so many racers do.
I like buying from other racers off this site as my budget racing mindset goes along with the old adage that 'once you bolt it on it is used anyway' and many parts have a long life when taken care of.
I have always been happy with my purchases from fellow racers and consider the racing community to be a great place and this site to be a huge asset to it.
I have even bought used parts from you Robert. I also wish to thank you again for sending me to your friend for the BAE intake and valve covers that are currently on my car. He is a great guy.

As dhitt776 on eBay I have an 1800 feedback score that is 100% positive with 5 star top ratings from both buying and selling.

Robert I know that you used to sell on eBay. What happend with that ?

The front cam bearing is not set up for a set screw. Use a little Loctite stud and bearing mount to help hold it in place. Down side is it will make it harder to change later but I personally would rather that then have it come out again.
If the bore on the block is hurt Full Race Supply has .015 .030 .045 .060 oversize OD cam bearings in stock. You can buy them in singles for any hole.

Note some stage 10 blocks use roll pins instead of set screws.

( this is not an advertizement for Loctite or Full Race Supply but simply free advise on a help forum ) I really like this site and would hate to be kicked off for taking up my time just trying to help out other racers.
