What is the typical compression for the guys that are running fuel in the top alcohol class in the normally aspirated engines? I want to put an NA BBC fuel engine together for Bonneville. Can anyone help please?

I run a BBC in the rear engine funny car, am building a Nitro injected engine, it has 12.8 compression, I know of guys running higher comp, but didn't want mine on the ragged edge, I want it to last

I think the first question I would want to know with nitro is what %......lol. Drastic difference in plan.....especially over a 5 mile course!

You cannot compare a hemi to a BBC,..

If you are going to run a NA injected BBC couple of rules of thumb
Low compression large percentage, so at 10:5 to 11:1 85-95 %
13.1 compression or more, less percentage of nitro up to 40%
good cam durations are @ .050 284/288 and lifts up around .800 intake
and .780 exhaust, my NA BBC motor is at .817/.774 282/288 w/112LC
I am am at 13.1 down from 13.5 to run up to 35%, stack injected hillborn 2.5
My heads are dart Pro 1 cnc 335 milled to a 115 cc chamber from 119
Ken Veney in 73 was running 12.8 comp and would throw 70% at it at times.
