Anybody have any experience using Autolites in blown alcohol. I've always used NGK's (B10ES) and was experiencing frequent dropped cyl's. I started testing all my new plugs for continuity and the problem has gone away. Problem is (and I'm not exadurating) 20% of them fail.

Try the NGK 5671a-10. It uses a 5/8 hex socket vice the 13/16. I have never had a problems with theM. How are you testing the B10ES to find out they have failed? What are you gapping your plugs at?

I'm checking continuity between tip and electrode. I'm gapping at 17.
Thank's Mike. Have you or anybody else out there had any experience with the Autolite's?

Back in my Nitrous days it was the BEST plug in our application, never used them on blown alky although our nitrous was run on an alky injected system?!

We used them alot in nitrous also because of the shorter groundstrap. I have never tried them in blown alcohol applications. I would think they would work and read the same for tuning.

I haven't used Autolites in years... back when I did run Autolites in my gasoline cars they had a black coating on them. Not the cad plating that you use to tune with ,on alcohol with the NGKs ???

I crossed my NGK number over to Autolite, I liked the shorter ground-strap, I could not get any reading off the cadmium what so ever on the Autolites, switched back to NGK got reading on first pass, asked around and I got told "that is CHROME plating, not cadmium" and you would melt a piston and still never burn the chrome at all

I had a problem with my NGK's going away rather quickly. They would be fast for one pass, then fall off.
They are worlds easier to read, but they don't last worth a crap.
I run the Aurolite racing and would need an act of Diety to switch.

My NGK B10ES crosses to an AUTOLITE AR2592. Anybody out there used these and is there an issue with being able to read them for heat? I read in one of the replies that that the autolites that they had used were chrome plated. Autolites web page says they are nickel plated. Are the Champions cadium plated? Any other suggestions? My supplier has replaced the bad NGK's but the shipping and the pain in the a** factor makes it easier to just toss them which is just plain stupid.
    Thanks (help!)
