8168

I have a 8168 pro mag timing retard that has no activation (gray/black) harness for either mag..only has 3 pigtails.,do you need to use a 6 shooter with this model? if not what activates the retard. the b+ ?It does have the 2 green and 1 red LED indicators.
Any thoughts other than "antique".Its only purpose is to operate the safety box kill feature...retard not used

black and red are power wires
green,purple,and yellow go to mag
put a chip in the bow and that should be it
My box has the grey/black and I don't use them. I also use it as a kill.

Wiring

the problem is all the diagrams show activation wires which this unit never had.I don't want to add the six shooter right now so my question is,will this old box kill the mag if there is no B+ to the 3rd harness? The newer one with the activation harness ,which you do not use with the 6 shooter,will work w/o it.I have zero modules in it. Thanks

 

Missing wires

Bill i bought a used one, found the same problem. I called leahy he told me that they can reinstall the wires. They remove them when they set up some apps. Steve

 

I got also a 8168 with sixshooter used with no grey and black wires.

My question is, what will cause the box to start, or will the first step of retard
will be active as power is supplied?

When it is on it is active. If you put a zero chip in it it is just a kill switch per sey.
