Keith Black Hemi Blocks

    What is the difference is on KB aluminum blocks with designations of Stage 5, Stage 7, Stage 9, Etc... ? Is it deck heights, raised cam vs std cam height, material, lifter bore sizes? Any place I can read for more information?

    The KB Race Hemi is available in five different formats. It can be ordered in virtually all phases of completion, but is generally purchased as a block package which includes: fully machined block with removable sleeves, main caps, installed cam bearings, special KB head studs and main studs with twelve-point nuts, and all necessary hardware. Please contact KB Racing with your special needs.

    Stage 5 Std cam location solid block (deck can be machined .500 short)


    Stage 6 Std cam location, water block (decks range from 10.725 to 11.225)


    Stage 7 Raised cam location, solid block (decks range from 10.725 to 11.225)

    Stage 8 Raised cam location, water block (decks range from 10.725 to 11.225)


    Stage 10 Raised cam location, water block* (decks range from 10.725 to 10.825)


    Bore sizes from 4.187 to 4.500

    Head and main studs
    ½ to 9/16

    Billet main caps and 5/8 main
    studs standard on all Stage 10 blocks

    Dual side bolts

    Lifter bore centers from 1.800 to 2.000

    Options:

    Large cam journals

    3 inch main

    5 inch stroke clearance

    *Stage 10 and 15 blocks
    do not feature true water jackets
    and are recommended for
    alcohol and nitromethane only.
