Announcement of the Pro Alcohol Funny Car Association

Oak Hills, CA- Today, Joe Powell, President of Joe Powell Motorsports announced the formation of the Pro Alcohol Funny Car Association. The PAFCA is a new professional touring alcohol funny car association based in the southwestern region of the United States. The focus is to put on cost affective 6 second 200 MPH Alcohol Funny Car shows for track promoters, racers, & fans in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, and Oregon.

“Recently we were looking at possibly taking over another association based in the southwest. When negotiations fell through, we were still looking for alternatives to give to the track promoters, racers, and fans. The market has become saturated with 7 second Funny Cars, Dragsters, and Door Cars. An alternative is needed that is cost effective for track promoters and racers both. We believe with our new race format, purse and point’s structure, we have the best Blown Alcohol Funny Car show for tracks, racers, & fans in our market.”

The PAFCA is adopting a hybrid Chicago style format with some interesting twists. The concept is to get shows back to a one day format for racers and tracks. The new format allows for all parties involved to do this and still put on the best possible show for the fans. “It makes no sense to go out in an open qualifying format and run cars with no spectators in the seats. Race Tracks want to see as many cars go down the track as possible with fans in the seats. Fans pay their hard earned money to see as many of the featured cars go down the track as possible. No one wants to see cars break in test and tune or qualifying. Our new format ensures that the track gets the most possible runs during show time.” Powell said.

The PAFCA is currently in negotiations with multiple tracks and potential race teams throughout the southwestern United States for the 2010 season. “We’ve had a lot of positive conversations over the past month.

Currently the PAFCA has 2010 race contracts, race format, points structure, and the 2010 rule book completed. The new PAFCA website will launch the first week of January. Tracks, race teams, and volunteers interested in joining this highly anticipated series, should contact the PAFCA via email at ProAlcoholFunnyCars@verizon.net

    Thanks

Thanks everyone for the great response. I didn't think we would have this much interest this soon. We should have the web page up the first week in Jan. I am working on a fact sheet that we can post to give everyone more info. Hope you all had a great Christmas.
    Take care,
    Joe

    Nothing wrong with a 6.80,..AT ALL ,..

........unless its just another 2005-09 Nhra Top Alky car,.....

We have had a lot of interest from nostalgia and modern alcohol funny cars. Any year funny car body style will be allowed. Long burnouts, side by side 6 second 200mph runs. It will be a great show. Come on by one of our shows and if you don’t enjoy it come and see me. If you have any questions feel free to drop me an email.
    Have safe and prosperous 2010,
    Joe Powell
