If unopened, it will last a long time. If opened, and in an unheaded area, make sure it is not in direct contract with the floor, and it might last for a year from my experience.

    It will collect water.

I kept about 10 gallons for over 4 years and then used it. It seemed fine. I was told as long as it had not turn green, it should be fine. If green, stand back and do not come in contact with it. At least that's what I have heard. Could be an old wives tale. No sure.

I've actually had 5 gallons turn red while mixing it with alky a few years ago in Gainesville, i brought the jug over to the VP truck and they disposed of it for me. I was told i was never in danger.

    Blue Nitro

Had always understood that when nitro became sensitized (to shock or impact) it turned blue.

Maybe the blue reactant in the yellow nitro produced the green color.

Also had a drum of Benzine to use as an adder, to calm the violent burn down a bit. Not think a regular person can buy that anymore.

    Water in nitro

If you will check with the old timers, they could only buy maybe 70% nitro (or some figure less than 100%).

They would mix water with the 70%, let it settle out and decant the now 100% nitro out of the drum and leave the water and what ever they used to cut it (most likely alcohol) in the drum.
