What's the smallest ci blown late style hemi combination anyone has run? I'm looking at a class that has a small ci with 8:71 blower limit, and would like to run a 426 based combination. I know the better fit would be the 354/392 early hemi, but already have engines/parts for the late style and would really like to stick with it. Was thinking 3.25 stroke with 4.25 bore. Haven't made any phone calls yet, but does anyone offer late style cranks with short stroke? Any input welcome.....

A lot of A/fuel guys use the 3.500 stroke.

Back in the Nascar days when the 426 was legal and they limited them to 366 or 370 inches Chrysler had Kellog make some Forged 3.22 stroke cranks. Pretty hard to find now though.

You're not really limited on bore size either, with the Hemi valve angles, shrouding, even with the 4.187" fuel sleeve isn't an issue. Was thinking about a combo like this for AA/AM until Jirka Kaplan destroyed the record and index.

That little Hemi is crazy! Another record crushed with the help of Les Davenport!:D Jirka has a similar motor is a AA/Gas Vette also that has been crushing records!

If you do a small cubic inch Hemi (or anything for this matter) call Les Davenport. He has done LOTS of great things with them. The numbers he and Jirka have run with the AA/Gas car and the Comp car are awesome!

We have a blower modified by Les and it is one stout piece! Its a 452 C.I motor in a Pro Mod/Pro Street car.

Sean will probably answer the phone. Hell of a guy himself.

A number of the nostalgia f/c guys run a stock stroke and 4.187 bore comes in at 413 cu. in. and probably allows the use of priced right top fuel parts.
