Anybody running a Plueger having issues with suction side (from pan) not seeming to keep up with pressure (supply) side. Seems like my pan always has 3-4 quarts in it, always thought keeping the pan empty for less windage was one of the objectives along with constant supply from tank. Gears seem fine, are there certain clearances (end, side) to look for. Thanks for any info.

We run a five stage, Weaver Bros pump and we always have oil in the pan. I was of the impression that all that oil was suspended in the motor while running, valve covers, heads, valley, oil passages lines and filter, all that good stuff, and when its running the pan is "almost" dry, but when you kill it, all that oil makes its way to the pan.

Another thing, when we fire the car after letting it cool down and everything, the oil level in the tank starts off low, and quickly raises back to normal.

The "dry sump " You get with plueger pumps or any other similar system is realy very basic and will never scavenge well as it has just 1 pick up, thats why they have big oil tanks, Only choices are 5 stage pumps or live with it,
many 5 sec pro mods and 5.3 TAD,s live with it...

I would venture to say most of that is what is trapped in the valve covers and when you shut it down most of it is drain back
I would love to see a clear cover with one of these running, probably would just be full of oil thou

Call Richard at System I oil pumps.

He'll explain what they have done to fix this problem.

All 4 of Force's cars switched to System I.
