HELP! My brother has been planning to compete at Indy again this year with his Follow A Dream TA/FC. Todd V. drove last year and I was to drive, this year. I entered the car for my brother at Indy. He as a car owner has grading points aplenty. Of course NHRA wont issue him a license, something about being able to see where you steer, so he can't get driver points. Jay would like to have another driver drive his car at Indy, but is currently being told he can not change his driver. Jay pays the bills, has most of the agrivation, but is stuck. Has anyone run into this situation as a car owner, and could you offer any advice or facts that could help.

On a connected topic, Jay would like to organize a group that could affect a rule change so this situation does not happen to other car owners. We don't want special treatment just fair treatment for the guy that pays the bills. Thanks

Dave we are trashing, but expect to be there. This year has been a little hectic. Testing the last two weeks has gone well, so hopefully we can run for the money. See ya there. jim

    Jim,
I don't know why they told him he could not use the points as as car owner. I drove another owner's car last year a couple times and we used the points he accrued from another driver in order to enter a national event. Could be that because it is Indy the rules have changed? Call your divisional director and get to the bottom of it. Good luck

Thanks Joe, Currnetly it seems to be the Division Director that is saying NO, because he says he can ot do it. If Indy is the issue than, we are already pre-entered and paid and have been since Feb/April. What division and event did you end up running in. Thanks for the feedback. Jim

    Jim,

Part of the problem is the Division Director (BL)that you are dealing with. He has not been shy with his dislike of the alky classes as a whole. You should try contacting someone at corporate NHRA about the situation. I personally know that driver changes occur routinely during registration at the track. I believe that you will find this to be the case if you ask the correct people. You might even try calling back the division one office and ask for DM instead.

Thanks everyone for the ideas and phone calls. Jay and I had a great meeting with D1 this past weekend and we are all on the same page. The only major issues is we are not happy with the car's performance and questioning if the cost of going to Indy is worth it. Got to have your stuff right to play there, and we are struggling a bit this year. Thanks Again
