bbc exhaust layout

Can anyone tell me whether 14 degree big chief heads and dart 360 heads will take the same set of exhaust pipes? Is the exhaust port location and bolt pattern the same?

Yes, they will fit standard chevy headers.

 

The bolt pattern & port locations are the same, but it will change the angle of the zoomies. I had a pair of adapters that were cut on an angle to correct this.

Did they angle the pipes in or out?

 

When I switched to 18deg big chiefs all it did was roll the headers up or down a little, sorry I don't remember which. If you run a dragster it should not matter.... a door car could cause fit problems and require the use of the above mentioned adaptors.

 

The exhaust ports on the big chief angle down compared to the conventional head.
