    AHRA San Antonio date

Looks like we will be sharing the track with AHRA. To my knowledge the Outlaw Fuel Atered Association is booked into San Antonio Raceway on March 26-27. That will be our season opener next year.

Another NHRA blow to the fans, racers and track owners

This is just so much more big dog BS!

As much as I hate to see lawyers get involved in anything, this is one of those situations where the track owners should take the NHRA and the IHRA to court and sue to take back ownership of their facilities.

It's not like a Burger King trying to sell a Big Mac, here. These are track owners that nearly all struggle to earn a living and then have to put up with one or the other of these goombas telling them that the can only allow events at the track that NHRA or IHRA santion. Then, on the other hand, if they (IHRA / NHRA) like you (like they like the OFAA, Goodguys, etc.), they will make an exception and call you and "Alternative Sanctioning Organization" and let you run at their tracks. The only ones who lose are the fans, the racers and the track operators. Who the hell is supposed the be benefitted by this sport, if not these three entities?

Somebody plese explain to me how NHRA or IHRA will suffer damages if a track, say San Antonio, allows an event to be sanctioned and run by AHRA. How can this hurt any other sanctioning body?

nhra is being rediculous. the most AHRA is going todo is put on afew nostalgia races. whats the big deal? its not like they will ever become a major player putting on modern style races. the owners of these tracks need to take charge of the races they want. what's nhra going todo, pull a national race? If ahra gets a race going in the northwest, Im going to be there.

The AHRA should have never said that they were going to sanction tracks. You don't have NHRA races at IHRA tracks. If they just wanted to run races like ADRL or Super Chevy that would be ok.

Rockingham was a NHRA track for a few years back then.

Okay, now I have a clearer picture about the AHRA's 26, 27 March dates for San Antonio that were going to be the same dates as the Outlaw Fuel Altered Association event there. We (OFAA) were going to be one of the organizations booked in by AHRA to kick off the "Tour" schedule.

Since NHRA has barred all it's member tracks from holding AHRA events, the entire deal has been cancelled, including our booking for the weekend.

Now, I guess the following still applies:

    Q: Who did this hurt?
    A: Racers, fans, track operator

Q: Who would have been hurt had this event taken place?
    A: No one

Q: Who benefitted from this decision?
A: No one, including NHRA, because we now see them even more clearly as the bully of the associations. If it isn't about them, then they will try to kill it!

Makes you just want to stay ion the fringes and well clear of the big dog, huh?

We'll just keep showing up at tracks as our own little sanctioing body, running our own deal, pleasing fans and not making any more noise than necessary. Don't want to draw attention of the big dog and get eaten! It's a sorry state, but what is the alternative?

WHile I agree this is a bad deal for the tracks and the racers who would have liked to see the show, What the AHRA has to do is not try to become a new sanctioning body. They will never have success trying to go to track already sanctioned by either body unless the track wants to change their direction. NHRA is being a responsible company by nixing it. It is no different that you, owning a company and someone comes in trying to form a union or trying to take over your company that you have worked hard to try and prow.
AHRA's goal is to bring in events at track and then if it is successful, try and convince the operator to switch over to them.
If AHRA was just an ASO like the ADRL or CMDRA or PMRA then they would not have any issues, but they are trying to become a sanctioning body
